Cougar Crest Trail - Big Bear Lake, CA
Went hiking up at Big Bear Lake on Labor Day. Ive been meaning to get up that way, but never found myself having the time off. The drive up takes just a little more than two hours, which really isnt that far to get completely away from the smog and crap of Orange County/Los Angeles.
We hiked the Cougar Crest Trail, which was rated moderate to difficult, about 5 miles with 1500 feet of elevation gain. As I write this, I can feel my legs throbbing. The trail itself was pretty easy, but we decided to hike to the top of Bertha Peak which sits at 8500 feet, huge elevation gains in very little milage. Was it really worth it? Id say no. There are some great views of the lake from the trail. On a clear day I bet the view from the top would be amazing, since you can see a complete 360 degree view.
I think total mileage was around 6-7 miles, unsure of elevation gains, but we had fun. Enjoy the pictures.

Better late than never. 08.08.08 was a big day. My mother got married in Vegas at Mandalay Bay, so some friends and I road tripped it out there for the ceremony. We had a great time, and tried to milk everything Vegas had to offer.
We left Thursday, August 7th and on the way, had a nice lil set of thunderstorms and light rain. We definitely had to stop at Primm (state line) to ride the roller coaster, which was AWESOME! Finally got into Vegas and got our hotel rooms sorted out. Tried to hit the pool but due to the lightening, were unable to go in the water. Ended up hitting the strip for a little bit and got some dinner.
Next day headed out to Red Rock Canyon and checked out the rock formations. Really wild stuff, and wasnt THAT hot. Im glad that Mandy and Tyler got to see it. The wedding was later that day so we hurried back to hit the pool for a little, than get dressed. Everyone looked great. It was nice to get dressed up. The reception was awesome, lots of dancing, drinking, and food. We later hit the strip some more and wandered around. Originally starting off as a big group, but everyone ended up splitting into smaller groups.
Saturday was our final day, had to get back into town for a Fashion Island Sprint Race, but on the way, we stopped by Boulder City, cool little town to grab some great breakfast. Than drove down to the Hoover Dam. Havnt seen it up close before, and neither did Sean or Mandy so it was cool to walk around and get some pictures. It was flippin’ hot out there. After that it was a long drive home, but was well worth it.
Here are some pictures from the trip

I split the gallery up from the trip and the pictures from the Reception.

Better late than never I suppose. These were taken a couple weeks ago at a friends house. Amazing view.
Uhg, looking back on these pictures, the quality is horrible. I think I was shooting at 1600iso because of how dark it was, and I think I saved in a very poor quality. Oh well, too lazy to go back and fix it. Enjoy. =)
Council of Doom Premiere Pictures!
Finally got around to uploading the pictures. Didnt take too many, but there were plenty of other people taking pictures to make up for it.
(ill try and update this is I come across more pictures)
Sequoia National Park
Recently returned from the Sequoia National Park. Sean and I took a little backpacking trip up to Jennie Lake from Lodgepole. The hike was about 9 miles with a lil under 3000′ feet of elevation gain to the lake. I have never hiked that much before, especially with a pack that heavy, but it was all worth it. We originally had plans to stay for two nights but ended up coming back a day early. I plan on going again really soon and explore more that the Sequoias have to offer. It was an amazing experience.
Enjoy.
Who are these losers?
…oh wait? =)
